Barrowland Ballroom concert travel guide

Use Glasgow Central or Queen Street as your starting point when comparing longer-distance trains, then plan the onward journey to 244 Gallowgate. The best arrival station depends on your route and any access needs.

Enter the full Gallowgate address in Traveline Scotland when comparing the final walk, bus or taxi. Save both legs: arriving at Central does not tell you how to return to Queen Street if your onward train leaves there.

Check the last service from the station or stop you will actually use after the gig, including any connection at Central or Queen Street. Allow for leaving the hall and reaching the street.

Build the return backwards from the last onward service. Include leaving the hall, reaching street level and any station transfer. Save a bus or taxi alternative before the show. If the plan depends on an exact finish or an immediate exit, compare an overnight stay before buying a fixed train ticket.

• Check ScotRail services

The ballroom currently has no accessible lift. Its trained stewards use a mechanical stairclimber for standard manual wheelchairs; powered wheelchairs, scooters and adapted or modified wheelchairs cannot use it.

Speak to the venue before buying travel if the stairclimber arrangements may not suit you. Accessible and companion tickets are handled by the promoter or ticket agent. On arrival, show your accessible ticket to a front-door steward instead of joining the general queue.

• Barrowland’s current accessibility arrangements

Plan your route to Gallowgate and check the restrictions and opening hours of your chosen car park. A nearby space does not necessarily provide a step-free route to the ballroom.

For an accessible drop-off or pick-up, agree the arrangements with the venue in advance. Choose a meeting point with your driver before the crowd leaves.

We have not verified a published, venue-wide bag-size limit from the official guidance linked here. Ask the venue or your event promoter before travelling with a backpack, suitcase or overnight bag; a general cloakroom mention does not confirm luggage will be accepted.

If you need equipment or medication, discuss entry arrangements with the venue in advance. Keep tickets available for the door checks.

Near Gallowgate: compare this if you want a shorter final journey after the show. Near Central or Queen Street: compare this if leaving luggage and reaching your next train are the priority. Choose the station your ticket actually uses, then check the route between the venue and hotel.

Compare the total cost of a room and late transport with travelling home. If going straight to the show, confirm luggage storage and late check-in with your accommodation. Venue & stays on your event page helps compare your dates; the provider confirms access and booking terms.
