Cookies & storage
CatchWorm uses a sign-in cookie and storage in your browser to keep the app working. With your permission, we also use analytics to understand clicks and journeys. We don’t use advertising trackers.
Analytics choices
Analytics is off until you accept. We store your choice in the cw-analytics-consent cookie for six months. If you accept, a random browser identifier is kept in the cw-analytics-browser cookie for up to 90 days to recognise returning browsers. A separate random journey ID is kept in session storage (cw-analytics-journey), resetting after 30 minutes of inactivity. It is cleared when you reject analytics or close the browser session.
We record page categories, public artist/event page paths, time on visible pages, page click positions and button actions, share handoffs/link copies and visits through random tagged share links, submitted artist searches, artists clicked in announcements, search outcomes, device size, referring website domains and campaign/post tags. We do not record full referrer URLs. We filter obvious emails, URLs and phone numbers from search terms, but cannot remove every personal detail. Please use search for artist names only. Signed-in activity is linked to your internal account ID, so it is not anonymous. Analytics events do not include your account email or geographical coordinates. Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine retains events for three months.
Use Analytics preferences in the footer to change your choice at any time. Rejecting stops new tracking and clears the browser and journey IDs; it does not erase earlier events. For access or deletion requests and the current event-deletion limitation, see our privacy notice.
What stays on this device
| Item | What it does | How long it stays |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics choice (cw-analytics-consent) | Remembers whether you accept or reject optional analytics. | Six months, or until you change your choice or clear it. |
| Analytics browser (cw-analytics-browser) | Recognises returning browsers, only after analytics consent. | Up to 90 days, or until you reject analytics or clear it. |
| Analytics journey (cw-analytics-journey) | Connects activity within a consenting browser session. | Resets after 30 minutes of inactivity; cleared on rejection or when the browser session ends. |
| Sign-in cookie (cw-session) | Keeps your account signed in. It’s protected from access by page scripts and sent securely over HTTPS. | Up to 30 days, or until you sign out or clear it. |
| My shows and saved plans | Keeps saved events, attendance choices and some plan details on this device. | Until you remove the saved item or clear site data. |
| Artist and planning choices | Keeps a local copy of tracked artists, your travel starting city, visit preferences and a guest identifier for shared plans. | Until updated or cleared in your browser. |
| Temporary browser-session storage | Remembers the action you were signing in to complete and where to return after navigation. | Until the action is completed, storage is cleared or the browser session ends. |
| Older memory media (IndexedDB) | Stores photos and videos previously saved only on this device. This is separate from server-held shared uploads. | Until you delete the media or clear site data. |
Clear storage carefully
You can remove CatchWorm’s cookies and site data in your browser settings. This signs you out and can permanently remove device-only saved shows, plans, notes, photos and videos. Signing in on another device won’t automatically restore those items.
Clearing browser data doesn’t delete your server-held account, artist alert preferences, shared plans or shared uploads. To request deletion of account information, contact us.
Other services
Google Fonts and Esri maps make requests when their content loads. Ticket, accommodation, transport and sharing services may use their own cookies when you open them. Read our privacy notice for the services CatchWorm uses.
Essential storage keeps the site working whether you accept or reject analytics.
