A Bandsintown alternative when one city is not enough
Bandsintown alerts you about concerts near one city. CatchWorm emails you about new dates in your country or worldwide, then lets you open that city, a year, and the trip.
CatchWorm is a free, UK-based concert discovery and trip planning service that emails you when artists you follow announce new tour dates worldwide, not just near you, and helps you find ticket links, travel and somewhere to stay.
CatchWorm is in beta, and still growing.
Why people look past Bandsintown
Bandsintown’s help page says notifications use one city at a time, with a radius you can change. You can still search other places. The alerts stay on that one location.
How CatchWorm differs
Alerts are not locked to one city
Choose Worldwide or your country. Ask for new tour dates, tickets on sale, tickets back from the official seller, or a new announcement. You follow artists yourself. There is no Spotify or Apple Music import.
Browse a city, then a year
Search for an artist or a city. Concerts by city lists upcoming catalogue shows, with a page for each year that has dates. It is not every gig nearby. Where a venue guide is written, the city page links to it.
The show page is the trip
Ticket links, estimated travel, places to stay, a venue guide where one is written, and things to do in the city. You book with the provider. CatchWorm is a website, so there is no ad-supported app.
Where Bandsintown may still suit you better
- You want push notifications, or a radius around one home city.
- You want artists synced from Spotify or Apple Music.
- You use app features such as requesting a tour stop or reading reviews.
Keep Bandsintown for what is nearby. Use CatchWorm when you would travel. Songkick, Bandsintown, Ents24 and CatchWorm compared.
Add CatchWorm alongside Bandsintown
- Search an artist or a city on CatchWorm, or open concerts by city.
- On an artist page, choose Set alerts, pick Worldwide or your country, and sign in with email.
Honest limits
- The catalogue is smaller. Bandsintown’s Google Play listing shows 10M+ downloads.
- There is no native app, no music import, and no presale code.
- If an artist is missing, send the name and an official link through Contact.

Bandsintown alternative: FAQs
Is CatchWorm a Bandsintown alternative?
CatchWorm is a free alternative for email alerts in your country or worldwide, plus city and year pages and help planning the trip. Bandsintown is stronger for a phone app, nearby discovery and a music-service sync.
Can Bandsintown alert me about more than one city?
Bandsintown's help page says notifications use one city at a time, with a distance radius you can change. You can still search other places. CatchWorm alerts are not tied to one city: you choose Worldwide or your country.
Does CatchWorm connect to Spotify or Apple Music?
Not for following artists. You search for and follow artists yourself. Bandsintown can sync artists from Spotify and Apple Music.
Does the Bandsintown app show ads?
Bandsintown's Google Play listing says the app contains ads. CatchWorm is a website. It does not run that app, and it may earn commission from marked partner links on show pages.
Can I use CatchWorm and Bandsintown together?
Yes. You might keep Bandsintown for shows near one city and use CatchWorm for artists you would travel to see.
