Co-op Live concert travel guide
Co-op Live is on Manchester’s Etihad Campus. Choose the Etihad Campus tram stop or the signed CityLink walk from Piccadilly, then plan the way back: nearby tram stops can close after an event, and the arena is a different building from the Etihad Stadium.
This is a planning guide. Use the linked providers for current services and event-specific arrangements.

Tram or walk from Manchester Piccadilly?
For the tram, plan to Etihad Campus on the Ashton–Piccadilly line. Follow arena signs once off the tram and check the entrance printed on your ticket. The Etihad Stadium shares the campus but is not the concert arena.
For the walking option, follow the blue lampposts on CityLink from Piccadilly through Ancoats, New Islington and Holt Town. The venue estimates about 25 minutes and describes the route as step-free. The Walk This Way sign on Merrill Street is a useful marker; the Big M marks the arena end.
Choose between walking and tram travel before arriving in Manchester, based on weather, your pace and access needs. If your mainline train uses Victoria, include the journey across the city rather than treating it as an arrival at Piccadilly.
How do I get back to the city after the show?
Use Etihad Campus for the tram: the venue says Holt Town and Velopark close after events to manage crowds. Walking to one of those stops is not a reliable way to avoid the queue.
CityLink offers a walking alternative towards Piccadilly. The venue says it is staffed until midnight following main performances; check the current arrangements and choose a route suited to your needs. Include the walk from the station to your accommodation or onward platform.
For larger events, the venue describes an additional shuttle from Sports City Way. Check whether it is operating for your show and where it goes before relying on it. Neither that shuttle nor a late tram guarantees a mainline connection.
Compare the last onward train with the full exit journey, including bag collection. If there is little margin, compare an overnight stay. Check Bee Network disruption on the day instead of treating a published tram frequency as a promise.
Which entrance should I use for step-free access?
Entrance B is the dedicated accessible entrance onto the event floor. Entrance C has around 12 steps; the venue describes its other entrances as step-free. Accessible ticket holders can ask staff for the entrance nearest their arrival point.
Reserve the viewing position and any companion arrangements you need before travelling. A step-free entrance does not establish that every ticketed seat is step-free. Check the tram and station route as well as the arena.
Accessible parking needs advance booking and can depend on other campus events. Blue Badge bays are standard-size spaces; contact the venue if your vehicle needs a different arrangement.
What changes if I drive to the campus?
Official event parking must be booked ahead. Use M11 3DU and follow the venue’s current campus directions for your booking. Resident restrictions mean nearby streets are not a substitute for designated parking or collection points.
Check whether another event is taking place on the campus. Shared roads and pedestrian routes can be busier, so include a buffer before doors and after the show. Follow event stewards rather than a navigation app’s suggested shortcut.
If someone is collecting you, agree a permitted meeting place before the event. Compare this with a tram or CityLink return before promising a driver an exact collection time.
Can I take a backpack or suitcase?
The general rule is one A4-size handbag per person. Backpacks, laptop bags, travel cases and large tote bags cannot go inside, even if you expect them to fit under a seat.
The venue lists limited paid bag-drop storage in the Official Blue Car Park. Check current availability and collection arrangements before relying on it for overnight luggage. Allow the extra walk and collection time before your return tram or train.
Inside lockers are a different facility from the outdoor bag drop: the venue lists lockers for coats and A4-size bags, with ticket-type restrictions for standing shows. Booking a locker does not make a prohibited backpack admissible. Contact the venue in advance about medical equipment or other access needs.
Stay near Co-op Live or near Piccadilly?
Near the campus: compare this if you want a shorter final journey after the gig. Check the actual route to the property, any pedestrian restrictions and whether late check-in is available.
Ancoats or New Islington: compare the property’s position against the CityLink route. A hotel in the wider neighbourhood is not necessarily beside the signed route, and your own walking time can differ from the arena’s estimate.
Near Piccadilly: useful to compare if you want to leave luggage before the show or catch an early mainline train. Budget time for CityLink or the tram after the gig; it is not a station-side venue.
