Which station should I use?
Bristol Temple Meads is the closest mainline station. The venue publishes a mostly flat step-free route of about 1,700 metres, with a map. Follow that route rather than a shorter one with steps.
City buses stop on Broad Quay or Anchor Road, about 250 metres on the venue’s step-free route. Coaches usually end at Bristol Coach Station, about 750 metres, with some uneven pavement and cobbles.
Plan the journey home before the show
The access guide gives distances, not a last train. Check GWR from Temple Meads against the time you will leave the building.
The walk back is the same 1,700 metre route in the dark. If that does not work after the show, compare a taxi with an overnight stay before you book.
Check the whole accessible route
Use the venue’s step-free maps from Temple Meads, the city-centre bus stops, the coach station and Trenchard Street car park. The building guide shows lifts, toilets and performance spaces.
Bristol Beacon keeps an access register. Once you are registered, the venue says you get priority booking and a free ticket for a personal assistant. The programme includes BSL, captioned, relaxed and audio-described performances.
Driving, parking and pick-up
Trenchard Street car park is 200 metres away. Level access is by the car-park lift: exit on level 2. Eight accessible spaces are on level 8, first come, first served, and you still pay at a machine.
Check the car park’s opening times before you rely on it for the journey home. The venue’s visit page also lists cycle racks on Trenchard Street, Colston Street and the centre promenade.
Bags and entry checks
The access travel guide does not publish a bag size. Check the event page before you travel with luggage, and contact the venue if you need to bring medical equipment.
Do not assume a cloakroom. Leave overnight bags at your accommodation if the event does not say they can come in.
Where should I base an overnight stay?
Compare a stay near Temple Meads, if that is your morning train, with one closer to Trenchard Street if you would rather not walk 1,700 metres after the show.
On your CatchWorm event page, Venue & stays lets you explore nearby accommodation. Check late check-in and luggage terms with the provider.
