The O2 concert travel guide

Select North Greenwich on the Jubilee line in your journey planner. Greenwich and North Greenwich are not interchangeable station names: a route to Greenwich is not the same final arrival. After leaving North Greenwich, follow signs for The O2 and then your ticketed arena entrance.

From a mainline arrival, plan the entire interchange to North Greenwich rather than booking a rail journey to central London and assuming the final leg is included. If travelling step-free, check the interchange as well as the destination station.

The venue also has a river arrival at North Greenwich Pier. It is a different journey from the Tube, so check the pier and sailing that match your route rather than using a general London boat ticket.

For the Tube, allow for leaving the arena and any queue at North Greenwich. Jubilee Night Tube normally operates on Friday and Saturday nights, subject to disruption; it is not an all-week service. An overnight Jubilee service also does not mean your mainline train or another Tube line will still run.

A boat can be a useful alternative if its destination suits your accommodation. The venue advertises pre-bookable post-show services on selected event nights. Check your exact concert, the destination pier and departure instructions before paying; do not rely on the daytime timetable after a show.

If those options do not fit, compare a bus route in TfL’s planner or a pre-arranged collection. Decide before the concert which option works for your last connection, and keep a second route saved.

North Greenwich has step-free access to all platforms using lifts, plus accessible gates and bus stops. Check the current lift status and each station where you change; the facilities at North Greenwich do not establish that the rest of the route is accessible.

The venue also identifies North Greenwich Pier as step-free. Ask the boat operator about the specific sailing, boarding arrangements and destination pier if you choose that route.

For vehicle arrival, The O2 lists a signposted accessible drop-off about 150 metres from the main entrance. Reserve a suitable viewing position and discuss assistance requirements with the venue before travelling, rather than relying on an ordinary seated ticket being suitable.

Pre-book event parking through the venue and use its current directions for your booked car park. The general free drop-off and pick-up area is in Car Park 1; follow the separate accessible arrangements if that is what you need.

Leaving by road can take longer than reaching your parked car. The venue warns that event traffic shares limited exit roads with buses and taxis. Agree a meeting point and contact plan before entering the arena rather than expecting immediate collection at show finish.

Check TfL’s road-user charges for your vehicle and exact route before choosing to drive. Parking and route charges are separate costs.

The arena allows one A4-size bag or smaller per person. Backpacks, travel cases and large tote bags are not permitted under the general policy. Recheck your event’s entry instructions before packing.

Larger bags can be left at the paid bag store outside the main entrance. The venue says it closes one hour after the show ends. Include the collection time when comparing a post-show boat, train or taxi.

If arriving before hotel check-in, ask the property whether it can hold your luggage first. That can avoid a separate collection stop when the concert finishes.

Greenwich Peninsula: compare this if avoiding a late Tube or boat journey is your priority. Check the actual walk from the arena, late check-in and any access requirements before booking.

Near a Jubilee line station: useful to compare if you want a London base as well as the concert. The relevant question is whether the service runs after your show and how far the accommodation is from that station.

Near your mainline departure station: compare this for an early train the next day. Work out the full journey back from North Greenwich, including line changes; proximity to the departure station alone does not solve the evening journey.

Use Venue & stays on your CatchWorm event page to compare accommodation for your dates. Check the provider’s final room details and terms, and avoid choosing solely by distance across the river.
